1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run your membership and the Service:
- Discord account information. When you sign in with Discord we receive your Discord user ID, username, avatar, and email address, as permitted by the scopes you approve. We do not receive or store your Discord password.
- Membership and billing data. Your subscription status, plan tier, instance limit, and renewal date. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card number or CVC. Stripe provides us a customer identifier and limited billing metadata (such as card brand and last four digits).
- Authentication keys. A personal auth key is generated for your account. We store a hashed reference to it, not the key itself in plain text where avoidable, and associate it with your account and instance limit.
- Usage and diagnostic data. Basic technical information such as auth-key validation events, timestamps, and error logs used to operate and secure the Service.
The desktop application runs on your own computer and controls software you configure. We do not collect the contents of your emulator sessions, game accounts, or the credentials you use with third-party software.
2. How we use information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- To provision, validate, and revoke your auth key and enforce your instance limit.
- To process subscriptions, renewals, upgrades, downgrades, and cancellations.
- To provide support and respond to your requests.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the Service and detect abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Third-party services
We rely on a small number of trusted providers, each with its own privacy policy:
- Discord — authentication (sign-in).
- Stripe — payment processing and billing management.
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud — authentication, database, hosting, and serverless functions that store account and membership records.
We share information with these providers only as needed to deliver the Service. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Cookies and local storage
The website uses your browser’s local and session storage to keep you signed in and to complete the secure sign-in flow. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
5. Data retention
We retain account and membership records for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account as described below; some records may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as financial record-keeping.
6. How we protect your data
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), managed secret storage for credentials, hashed auth keys, and access controls on our backend. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. You can also:
- Update or cancel your subscription any time from the Membership page.
- Manage payment details through the Stripe billing portal.
- Revoke Valhalla’s access from your Discord account settings.
8. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
9. International users
Our providers may process and store data in the United States and other countries. By using the Service you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data-protection laws than your own.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate we will provide additional notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
